Although the federal and provincial governments intervened quickly and mobilized significant resources to cushion the financial impact of the COVID-19 crisis for individuals and businesses, the pandemic has highlighted and deepened the economy’s gender, racial and income inequalities.

The report concludes with recommendation for key policy frameworks needed to address the structural inequalities exposed by the pandemic and solutions for a more inclusive and just economy, rather than returning to the pre-pandemic status-quo.
